The Technical Writer intern will have the opportunity to understand and take part in the development of a product. The intern will learn how the output of supporting content ultimately affects the end user. The intern will be exposed to design and have input on the customer experience, and will also be an active listener/participant in technical and non-technical aspects of product development and user interface design. The intern will also take part in user testing and help to identify improvements to the overall experience.

Additionally, the intern will gain an in depth understanding of a product and the user experience and will help to write/create product use manuals. The intern will also gain exposure to the product and technical teams to document a 'day in the life' of a product for internal and external consumption.

Qualifications:


  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year accredited degree program, and returning to the program upon completion of the internship


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, English or related course of study preferred


  • Experience in writing preferred - e.g. journal, newspaper, online blog or other written media


  • Exposure to customer journey/user experience a plus
