If you are a Purchasing professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Stafford, TX location, you will be involved in the purchasing of components in a manufacturing environment ensuring optimal cost, outstanding quality and on-time delivery.  AS A PURCHASING SPECIALIST, YOU WILL: 


  • Purchasing and coordination of domestic and global components
  • Coordinating internal resources for cost reduction initiatives and continuous business improvement processes
  • Building excellent supplier relationships
  • Coordinating purchase orders and management of products; maintaining up-to-date data in SAP
  • Continually adding value for the organization through purchasing initiatives
  • Establish contingency strategies for our core products to ensure on time delivery and quality
  • Participate in the implementation of Lean principles throughout the purchasing department
  • Oversee inventory steadiness while purchasing to a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) replenishment
  • Promptly settle accounts payable 3-way match incidents
  • Reconcile supplier defects expeditiously

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate's Degree with 5 years supply chain/purchasing related work experience.  
  • Requires knowledge of fundamental concepts of production planning, inventory, scheduling, and lean principles as they apply to purchasing
  • Import/Export knowledge is required
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Confident Decision-Making Skills
  • Supplier Development experience
  • Ability to work multi-dimensionally in a complex business matrixed environment
  • Proficient with ERP systems
  • Microsoft Office experience - intermediate to advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Prefer proficiency in SAP
  • International procurement experience
  • APICS Certification
