First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Clinical Pahrmacist to work independently under the broad supervision of a team lead, supervisor, or manager to research sourced pharmaceutical information, make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results for possible inclusion within knowledge base content. This role will be located out of our South San Francisco location. 

Essential Functions:


  • Independently carries out specified research activities, makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results in comparison to stated editorial policies and work procedures.

  • Directs and performs data entry tasks and verifies data entry performed by team members.  Independently plans and prioritizes order of completion for work assigned in a manner consistent with policy. Takes ownership of all work completed.

  • Trains other employees on execution of work procedures performed by self and team members on a regular basis.

  • Provides in-services and presentations to internal and external customers.

  • Actively supports the organization's mission, vision, values, and goals. Participates in activities within the organization that supports performance improvements.

  • Effectively communicates work progress in writing and verbally. Seeks guidance on issues and project details when necessary for accurate completion of assigned tasks.

  • Reliably organizes and completes tasks associated to both routine tasks and special projects that are unrelated to day-to-day routine work.

  • Is able to work well with other departments.  Works with process and functional managers to optimize and continuously improve work procedures, process flow, control plans and editorial policies.

  • As standards of timeliness and accuracy are established within the organization, will be expected to perform within established standards.

  • Performs additional duties for the organization as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Knowledge and Experience:

  Minimum Education:


  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited U.S. College of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Residency

  • Actively licensed in at least one State as a pharmacist

  Minimum Experience:


  • Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (residency strongly preferred) with at least 2 years of experience in a clinical pharmacy setting. Must be actively registered as a pharmacist in at least one State of the United States

  • Pharm.D preferred   

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Researches source pharmaceutical information, makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results for possible inclusion within knowledge base content in a manner consistent with stated clinical editorial policy. Authors and updates the content in the FDB consumer medication information suite (PEM, CMM, LBLW, HRMM-REMS, CVRM, Meducation) in cooperation and coordination with CDIG RAs, Copyeditor and Translators. Work is performed within specified CDIG policies and guidelines. Ensures appropriate attachment of drug products to PEM, CMM, LBLW, HRMM-REMS, CVRM, Meducation as part of the authoring or review process.

  • Directs and performs data entry tasks and verifies data entry performed by team members.  Able to independently plan and prioritize order of completion for work assigned.  Work performed meets or exceeds stated product maintenance standards. Responsible for logging and shepherding clinical scenario items/issues to their completion.

  • Trains other employees on execution of work procedures (primarily technical) performed by self and team members on a routine basis. Actively contributes to process and quality improvement efforts. Includes the ability to facilitate and accomplish daily team tasks and provide pragmatic decision-making guidance to the team as well as the ability to plan longer term projects to meet company goals and customer needs.

Required Skills:


  • Word processing; demonstrates knowledge or capability to become proficient at a basic level with MS Office applications. Must become proficient with XML content authoring software, Apollo forms, and other data platforms as needed. Demonstrates knowledge of MS EXCEL and Access applications as needed for CDIG and Meducation data review and queries, such as mapping of the Meducation content to the appropriate products (NDCs, or RXCUIs) needed to perform parity assessment, i.e., verify accuracy and consistency of clinical content between Meducation and PEM.

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and writing capabilities; able to perform presentations to internal and external customers regarding supported content.

  • Multiple task prioritization; able to seek guidance when competing priorities are present

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze a large repository of source information and come to sound, evidence-based conclusions.

  • Can work in a team environment, taking primary responsibility for supported content without direct supervision by management personnel.

  • Knowledgeable, or able to become knowledgeable regarding use of supported data in customer systems. Able to respond knowledgeably and diplomatically to a variety of customer inquiries through SalesForce (customer issue tracking system).

  • Demonstrates ability to conform to work procedures; meet applicable deadlines, accuracy and productivity standards.

  • Able to effectively digest, distill, interpret and consumerize the professional literature for drug product information in the context of the consumer suite of modules.
