Position Summary
 
Performs verifiable quality assurance tests on company products, and prepares laboratory reports prior to applications on location.
Key Accountabilities


  • Performs moderately complex quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid additives to verify fluid design.

  • Prepares, operates, maintains and calibrates equipment in the laboratory in accordance to company standards. Documents and reports laboratory results.

  • Performs additive selection and design of stimulation and cementing fluids with little direction from the Lab Manager.

  • Performs pre-test and pre-job tasks needed in preparation for providing analytical support to actual operations. Preparation of presentations for internal technical “lunch and learns”.

  • Makes recommendation fit for purpose additive selection and design of stimulation and cementing fluids for basic well treatments.

  • Assists/Responsible for the disposal of laboratory waste accordingly to property conducted methods.

  • Documents and reports data related to field testing of new technology.

  • Attends periodical safety and operations improvement meetings and location quality improvement meetings and location quality improvement plan.

  • Mentors trainees and junior personnel in laboratory operations and procedures.

  • Assists in Field Engineer lab training and field preparedness in QA/QC procedures.

  • Assists and trains lab personnel on chemical release, spills, and evacuation plan according to district emergency plans.

  • Solid knowledge of relevant API Standard procedures.

  • Field assignments and visits are required.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and laboratory inventory control.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral).

  • Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel. Databases, Power Point and general record keeping.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong multi-tasking skills

  • Communicates clearly and concisely to send and receive information.

  • Complies with attendance policies.

  • Able to set job priorities.

  • Demonstrates strong sense of urgency in completing priorities.

Minimum Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
