Job Title: Delivery Driver - CDL

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Dispatch Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule: 5 days a week, schedule is set base on business needs

Travel: Local

Salary Structure: Competitive Base Salary+ Incentives

 

Summary: Delivery Drivers perform the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Drive Tandem axle 52,000LB GVW 26' Straight truck w/ 10 speed manual transmission through variable route

2. Loads and unloads groceries from truck by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly.

3. Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.

4. Delivers and stacks merchandise on customer's premises and collects payment or obtains receipt for goods.

5. Verifies load against shipping papers.

6. Prepares receipts for load picked up.

7. Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.

8 .Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.

9. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school or G.E.D preferred; must be a minimum of 21 years of age, and possess and maintain a safe driving record; OR Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class B, Tandem axle 52,000LB GVW 26' Straight truck w/ 10 speed manual transmission, provided the age and safe driving record requirements are met.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

No Computer skills needed.

Certificates and Licenses:

CDL Required

Valid DOT Medical card

Supervisory Responsibilities:
