The Sr Platform Engineer is responsible for applying business and technical knowledge to ensure availability of Edward Jones' systems, and to provide quality solutions and guidance for business and enterprise infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, assemble, configure, install, maintain and tune complex infrastructure components associated to the specific Technology department.


• Provide guidance and training for infrastructure technologies to peers and less experienced administrators.


• Develop complex technical requirements for enhancements and new systems.


• Develop integrated system designs and specifications.


• Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure.


• Debug and correct complex internal and external infrastructure problems


• Conduct peer walkthroughs to assure quality of designs and implementations.


•  Understand business and technical implications of projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or, relevant experience


• 5 or more years experience in system administration or storage administration experience


• Display expert understanding of Hardware, Operating Systems, Storage, Replication, and Network Technologies.


• Identify and resolve complex internal or external infrastructure problems independently or through leading others.


• Problem resolution can require in-depth data capturing and analysis using a wide variety of diagnostic tools.
