Position Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting with the
design, installation and support of the datacenter, Wide Area Network (WAN) and
Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure. The Network Engineer follows standard
practices and procedures in analyzing situations involving readily identifiable
problems and also assists in the planning of large scale projects through
vendor comparison and cost studies.

 

 

Overall Responsibilities:

·        Assists in identification and installation of
hardware, software and network purchases in accordance with company policy.

·        Administers and maintains the
company’s WAN infrastructure in compliance with all applicable standards.

·        Performs moderately complex tasks relating to
network monitoring, operations, and maintenance.

·        Provides level 2 and 3 support and resolution of
open IT issues escalated by the IT Operations Team.

·        Assists in the development of project plans and
assists in the implementation of all network implementation activities of small
to medium level of complexity.

·        Builds, maintains, and manages strong vendor
relationships to resolve problems and coordinate the delivery of IT products
and services.

·        Ensures that assets are responsibly maintained,
inventoried and/or disposed of properly.

·        Draft reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.

·        Participates in 24 x7 on-call rotation.

·        Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

 

Job
Requirements:

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience providing
network support on platforms such as Cisco Nexus or Catalyst line of products,
Firewalls, and Load Balancers.

·        Understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP,
netflow, access-control lists, policy-based routing, firewalls, peering, and DNS.

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT role
involving Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing
Protocol (EIGRP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) design, implementation,
and troubleshooting in an enterprise or global environment

·        Relevant technical certifications such as CISCO
Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

·        Relevant technical certifications such as CISCO
Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

·        Project Management Certification (PMP)

·        Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.

·        Relevant technical certifications such as CISCO
Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

·        Relevant technical certifications such as CISCO
Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

·        Understands the need for and consistently
practices effective teamwork with others.

·        Ability to interact with IT personnel on all
levels to resolve issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.

·        Capable of prioritizing and managing
assignments, tasks, and projects to completion with minimal supervision.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Ability to maintain a detail oriented approach
while multitasking in a fast paced environment.

·        Proficient in all currently supported network
technology standards in use at arvato.

 

Physical
Demands & Work Environment: 

 

While performing the duties of this job the employee
requires mobility, the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols as
well as hand/eye coordination. The employee regularly sits for long periods of
time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with
hands and arms. The employee regularly uses office equipment such as multi-line
telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator. Employee will
regularly use a computer for extended periods of time. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
