Position Summary

This new Senior Accountant opening reports directly into the Accounting Manager / Controller. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the review and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparation of journal entries, preparation of monthly financial statements.

Other duties include performing reconciliations on general ledger accounts as needed; monitoring variances; record management; preparation of all internal and external reporting functions; reviewing and verifying journal entries; reviewing financial statements; internal controls in conformance with established SOX processes, and serving as liaison with external parties (Corporate, Product Group, Country Commercial Organization (CCO), Supply Chain, consultants).

Key Responsibilities


  • The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager / Controller and works closely with the, US CCO Accounting Controller, US FP&A Team, Corporate functional Teams, and the Site Leadership Team.
  • Learns and understands Dentsply Sirona's reporting structure as this is necessary due to the many intercompany relationships between the US, CA, and globally and the numerous legal entities. Understanding the Product Groups/Commercial/Supply Chain/Corporate Pillars and legal entities structure is important in preparing the actuals data necessary for the monthly financial and management reporting.
  • Support month-end close process and ensures accurate and timely completion of assigned journal entries, account reconciliations and intercompany activity. Prepare month-end and quarterly reporting requests for the location (entity level reporting)
  • Accountable for the safe keeping and maintenance of the company's assets through balance sheet integrity and a proper control environment.
  • Supports and collaborates with various FP&A personnel pertaining to Budgets and Forecast activities and proactively brings situations and variances to the appropriate personnel for further review.
  • Acts as a business partner with site management team as assigned by the US CCO Accounting Manager, Controller and/or US CCO Accounting Director.
  • Manages the day to day local ERP system and associated projects and changes.
  • Manages any testing and feedback to the business owner(s) for any SOX-related systems for the US E-Commerce platform that impact the ERP system and controls.
  • Proactively implements improvements to the internal processes within Accounting Team. This includes execution of process improvement initiatives, initiating open dialogue with other functional departments in order to create efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures as directed by the US CCO Accounting Manager, Controller and/or US CCO Accounting Director
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors on all requests.
  • Will assist in other projects as assigned by the US CCO Accounting Manager, Controller and/or US CCO Accounting Director.

Key Skills & Experiences


  • Bachelor's Degree in business or accounting or other related discipline is required.
  • CPA, CMA or related international certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting, general Ledger and financial close experience
  • Experience with Hyperion suite of products a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure AX ERP system a plus
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems.
  • Strong analytic skills and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle. Having strong systems knowledge and a proven track record of how to address and resolve process/system issues outside and inside the system to improve the user experience is a key skill for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong communication, organization and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes.

  • Written and oral fluency in English is mandatory.
