SPECIALTY INSTRUCTOR - PRN at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia

Job Description:

Instructor will be given a specific class to instruct and will instruct class adhering to class description. Instructors will be given classes that are in their specific realm of expertise.

Education Requirements

• Must have knowledge and experience teaching group fitness classes, the ability to communicate with special populations and instruct members through a full scope of safe, effective exercises.

Experience Desired

• Over 3 years of experience is a variety of disciplines is desired.

License Requirements

• Certification required from a national organization. AFAA, ACE, AEA or a specialty field such as cycling, yoga, Pilates, tai chi, chi kung or les mills certification. CPR and First aid certification required.

License Desired

• A variety of certifications are desired to meet a large variety of class descriptions for membership base

Skill Requirements

• Teach level of class appropriate to membership base


• Have a working knowledge of all fitness equipment used in group programming


• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills


• Strong communication skills


• Ability to work under stress and contribute to the team environment


• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends


• Physical requirements include, but not limited to: Lifting/pushing/pulling/standing/ demonstration of lifting techniques/ high level of cardiovascular endurance. Teaching and coaching for prolonged periods of time 


• Ability to execute proper cueing with music phrasing.
