ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Fabrication Cell Manager based out of Welcome, NC.

JOB SUMMARY:

Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the Metal Fabrication manufacturing operation to meet the production schedule with quality products on a timely basis in a cost efficient and safe manner. In addition, is responsible, for all manufacturing related activities including unit production, scheduling, component inventory, quality, and fully utilizing lean/flow concepts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Coordinate manufacturing activities of all shift operations. Responsible for all quality related issues as they pertain to the manufacturing area. Promote and support safety objectives. Provide leadership and direction for the manufacturing areas.


  • Direct the department supervisors in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure meeting the plant's objectives for producing and shipping the quality and quantity of products specified and ensures discipline within confines of plant rules and applicable laws.


  • Direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness.


  • Direct and approve programs and plans to improve employee relations and employee productivity; recommend/approve salary increases.


  • Monitor plant performance and direct the development of; and approve plans to improve output, quality, and costs.

  • Monitors production to assure efficiencies are maintained.

  • Manages departments such that budget requirements are met.

  • Suggests new handling and manufacturing methods to achieve maximum productivity.

  • Reviews employee training for work assignments to assure safety in operation and quality compliance.

  • Ensures production and shipping schedules are met.

  • Complies with and enforces company safety program and policies.

  • Maintains a high degree of housekeeping.

  • Complete all other tasks as defined by the Director, Manufacturing.

INTERACTIONS:


  • This position will interact with all levels of employees as well as customers and vendors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Business Mgmt or Engineering preferred.
  • 5-7 years of Metal Fabrication manufacturing operations leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of World-Class Manufacturing principles,
  • Employee Empowerment skills and metal fabrication processes required.
  • ISO experience preferred.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, results driven, ability to effectively communicate at all levels of employees.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Excellent PC and system knowledge, including the ability to analyze data within an MRP system and make affective assumptions to drive business results.
