The Staff accountant will perform various accounting duties at the Corporate office, including account reconciliations, prepare royalty calculations and payment reports, cash applications, journal entries, revenue accounting, SOX compliance, and other month-end closing duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis as part of month-end closing, including (examples include prepaid expenses, liabilities, fixed assets, and cash).
Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for accruals, prepaid expenses, and other items.
Cash receipt applications.
Prepare royalty calculations and submit reports to Partners
Prepare payroll journal entries on a monthly basis
Reconcile merchant account activity monthly
Coordinate asset management reporting and tracking, including review of asset set-up, disposals, posting depreciation, and reconciliation to general ledger on a monthly basis.
Assist auditors on an as needed basis by preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documentation as requested
Billing and revenue recognition for various entities.
1. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors Degree, CPA-preferred or CPA candidate (i.e. qualified to take CPA exam)
Six months to 2 years of relevant experience with above job functions
2. SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge and application of GAAP standards
Advanced Excel skills and other data processing skills will be crucial to this job
Experience with accounting software preferred, but not required as long as other accounting criteria are met
3. ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Problem solving and financial analysis
Time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and complete work on time.
