SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Program Director provides assistance to the instructor in designated skills lab. Assists instructor with planning activities to achieve optimal success for students in the skills laboratory area; assists with recording, proctoring tests, grading; and prepares copies, types and/or creates educational support materials such as power points, bulletin boards, posters, etc. Collects pertinent student data and prepares reports as required under the supervision of the instructor and Program Director. Additionally, provides tutoring as needed.
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree or above preferred. Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Specific certification to program requirements:
Licensed in the field of study by the designated governing board or credentialing organization if applicable.
Vocational Nurse through the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians of California
Current CPR Card.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of programmatic experience in the educational area they will be assisting in. (Ex. ST operating room experience, LVN skilled nursing experience etc.)
Prior teaching experience preferred.
Experience with MS Office.
