Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

Print operators set up and operate various printing equipment. This position focuses on inkjet printing and various toner machines. Print operators are responsible for machine set-up and operation following guidelines as set in the job ticket. Load print files into PRISMA to prioritize the print workflow, maintain quality standards, perform scheduled maintenance and oversee any helpers assigned during the run as well as all other duties as assigned. These machines are Canon/Oce’ products.  Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience in print operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining set quality standards and company SOP’s




• Read and understand work order completely. Visually inspect all work order materials against job specifications and report all problems to supervisor.




• Prepares files for printing




• Validates print jobs are set up to specifications




• Loads rolls of paper for printing




• Prints documents




• Troubleshoots equipment issues including perforators, slitters and cutters




• Documents inventory usage and waste




• Provides post-printing checks and balances




• Follows quality steps throughout the entire process.




• Assists quality check team members in job validation




• Performs regular maintenance and cleaning of the print equipment and print operations area




• Additional responsibilities as requires

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• This position requires long periods of standing and walking




• Bending and lifting are required




• Ability to lift up to 50lbs




• Computer knowledge is required




• Ability to balance transactions




• Fast-paced, reliable, and detail oriented




• Ability to work independently and multi-task

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to read and understand written or verbal instructions, work specifications and use basic math.
