Responsible for applying a thorough, advanced level knowledge of clinical and financial analysis and knowledge of systems technology to identify and design solutions within the decision support, research, and/or quality systems. Responsible for the development of Service Line analyses and the monitoring of Service Line trends. Serves as a resource to department managers and facilitates use of corporate data. Performs financial functions, conducts statistical and analytical reviews, and prepares financial reports, statements, and gathers information for proformas and presentations. Participates in cross functional teams to assist with financial requirements and to enable adherence to generally acceptable accounting principles.

Minimum Job Requirements
Master's Degree Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting (Required)
2-4 years’ experience with hospital financial reporting and with both financial and clinical analyses in a healthcare setting
2-4 years’ experience preparing complex written and graphic reports that explain and interpret data trends
2-4 years’ experience performing complex analysis using modeling, forecasting and statistical analysis methodologies
Prior presentation experience and intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting principles/standards
Knowledge of healthcare terminology, coding practices, and KPI definitions
Knowledge of Service Line management and accountability practices
Knowledge of database functionality and reporting tools and ability to creatively apply these concepts to a complex and changing environment and able to articulate underlying system processes and their effect on data and reports

Job Specific Duties
Conducts data analysis to determine root causes and the feasibility of solution options.
Prepares data analysis projects including developing and presenting clear visually compelling periodic and ad hoc reports. Prepares charts, tables, and other exhibits for use in presentations.
Develops and executes complex business plans (including financial models) and project plans to obtain new business growth for the organization.
Plans, analyzes, coordinates and serves as liaison for the activities, projects and programs related to new business opportunities.
Provides analysis, data, and writing to support NCHS’ strategic planning, growth, and development efforts including an annual system environmental assessment.
Provides in-depth data interpretations for streamlined decision making.
Assists in identifying and evaluating opportunities to improve organizational efficiencies, improvements in quality, clinical & patient centric metrics and financial performance.
Responsible for auditing data for reasonableness, investigating variances, and working with technical team to make appropriate corrections.
Collaborates with Finance department on Budget preparation.
Manages the integration and comparison of internal data with various benchmarks (e.g., CHA, PHIS).
Works across departments to provide supportive information for various initiatives including productivity, business planning, volume trend analysis, case mix index, reimbursement and costing.
