AreaX is a business idea Innovation Lab that is tasked with the mission of catalyzing innovation within the Corporate & Investment Bank. We are a team of designers, engineers, and products managers dedicated to creating transformative financial and non-financial digital products that meet our clients' needs. We are responsible for developing and nurturing true "zero to one" ideas within 12 week cycles.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will push the boundaries of what is possible and innovate quickly in a rapidly evolving field. You will need to identify opportunities and help create products that transform the space. This is a fairly hands-on role with the opportunity to manage, coach and mentor Product Managers on the team.

In this role, you will:


  • Apply product management best practices to creatively solve complex, ambiguous, and novel problems.
  • Own the vision, product strategy, and delivery of new products - that test a hypothesis
  • Maintain a robust delivery schedule in partnership with the Engineering team.
  • Build consensus with business partners and senior managers on feature priority decisions
  • Back decisions with data & metrics
  • Partner with the design team members to ensure a phenomenal user experience
  • Partner with the engineering team, product peers, business stakeholders to adjust product priorities
  • Keep stakeholders, senior managers informed on delivery progress, blockers and present decision points to drive debate.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience building products from conception to launch.
  • 4+ years leading product managers, associates and analysts either as a manager or as a senior team-member
  • Nice to have - 1-2 years experience with product design
  • Experience with end-to-end software product delivery and working closely with the Engineering team on a daily basis
  • Technical experience is a plus to form a view when working with Engineering
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience overseeing a roadmap strategy and definition
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial spirit & ability to wear many hats with minimal direction
  • Strong bias for data-driven decision-making
  • Quick decision-making abilities demonstrating bias for action under tight timing and pressure
  • Demonstrated user obsession
  • You are intellectually curious, see things differently, and challenge the status quo; you are not afraid to ask questions
  • You have the ability to navigate a matrixed organization and the ability to influence peers by articulating the product offering and value to business partners
  • Strong grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies
  • Technical background or familiarity working with engineers towards building products is a must-have
  • Act as a coach, mentor & manager to team-members providing feedback on approach and helping navigate through blockers, but also giving them the freedom to bring their originality to the table
