What we do:
The Cross-Market Monitoring Staff (CMM) leads the Markets Group's monitoring and reporting of developments across global financial markets. CMM oversees the production of a range of analytical products delivered to policymakers and staff throughout the Federal Reserve System (FRS) and the Treasury Department, and leads the training of new team members to conduct market-intelligence gathering activities.

Your role as Cross-Market Strategist:


  • Be a thought leader for the group's market intelligence gathering efforts, combining a strong knowledge of financial markets with the ability to lead presentations and analysis in coordination with subject-matter experts.
  • Be the secretariat for the Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets (IACFM), coordinating with the FRBNY President and senior management in actively managing committee membership and meeting logistics.
  • Organize engagements between FRS leaders and external market participants; communicate relevant insights to important partners through analytical reporting and senior-level presentations.
  • Coordinate new associate training covering global financial market knowledge and the authorship of analytical products.

    • Manage a curriculum that incorporates best practices in market analysis, effective communications, and monetary policy implementation
    • Manage trainees' workflow, assessing progress towards goals and serving as a mentor for a cohort of 5-10 associates over a 3-4 month period.

What we are looking for:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience; a graduate degree in economics, public policy, finance or a related field is a plus
  • Experience communicating to diverse audiences regarding global macroeconomic and financial developments
  • Experience engaging with senior management with a track record coordinating amongst a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Prior experience in training and mentoring a plus
  • Some travel between Chicago and New York
