DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Since 1983, FRONTLINE has served as PBS's flagship public affairs series. Hailed upon its debut as ‘the last best hope for broadcast documentaries,’ FRONTLINE's stature over 35 seasons is reaffirmed each week through incisive documentaries covering the scope and complexity of the human experience. The series has won every award in journalism — including 97 Emmy Awards and 24 Peabody Awards.

JOB OVERVIEW

FRONTLINE is seeking a hardworking student eager to learn about publicity and media communications at FRONTLINE, and how we ensure our projects are seen, heard and read. As FRONTLINE’s Media and Communications Intern, you would have the opportunity to work with FRONTLINE’s audience development team and learn about how to think creatively about publicity, communications and the series’ social media presence. Through this internship, the Media and Communications Intern will help promote FRONTLINE’s projects and brand, as well as think of innovative ways to connect with new and existing audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct media research


• Brainstorm pitching ideas for press outreach


• Field viewer inquiries


• Craft social copy for FRONTLINE’s platforms


• Build out PR reports

SKILL SET

• Excellent research, writing and organizational skills


• A good work ethic


• The ability to work independently, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced environment

JOB STATUS

Paid Internship $15/hour (Part-time up to 20 hours)

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production, to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative arenas.

• You must have cover letters for each internship that you are applying to.


• Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wifi.


• Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
