DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The GBH Worcester Bureau is our newest bureau as we aim to cover the depth and breadth of Massachusetts. The bureau will focus on news, events and issues facing the greater Worcester area, including the city and surrounding communities.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Worcester Bureau intern will provide administrative and project support to the department to ensure seamless delivery of daily office administration and operations. A preference will be given to students attending a Worcester-area college/university

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather research for stories from the city of Worcester and surrounding communities for digital and radio




• Help with audio/video editing




• Contribute to social media accounts

SKILL SET

• Students should have excellent writing and researching skills, and familiarity with audio and possibly video editing software/technology




• Ideally, students will be self-starters, independent, eager, assertive and follow instructions and directions with limited supervision. 




• Students must have a general understanding and knowledge of local, state and federal government and be able to identify by name various elected officials in the Commonwealth 




• An interest and familiarity in First Amendment issues and laws are helpful along with an awareness of issues in fields of education, immigration, criminal justice and health.




• Students should specify their areas of interest within a newsroom and any skillset that may be helpful such as previous work on a student newspaper or radio program or previous internship. 

JOB STATUS

Paid Internship $15/hour (Part time 16 hours)

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production, to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative arenas.

SUMMER 2021 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

• Summer 2021 Virtual Internship dates: June 7 - August 1




• You must have cover letters for each internship that you are applying to.




• Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wifi.




• Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
