DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Beat the Press is a weekly news and media criticism program hosted by Emmy award-winning journalist Emily Rooney. The program airs weekly on GBH. Beat the Press is a creative and fast-paced environment.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Beat the Press intern conducts research and gathers news articles on key media-related stories each week. The program addresses coverage of local and national topics from politics to sports. The Beat the Press staff works Wednesday through Friday so the internship will take place during those three days each week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct research and gathers news articles on key media-related stories each week
Help gather visual elements for packages including still photos, video, tweets and newspaper headlines
Communicate with video editors and graphics artists to provide them with visual elements they need
SKILL SET
An interest in news and the arts
Well informed about current events
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment working independently
Good sense of visuals
Very detail oriented

Paid Internship $15/hour (Part-time 16 hours)
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production, to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative arenas.
SUMMER 2021 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Summer 2021 Virtual Internship dates: June 7 - August 13
You must have cover letters for each internship that you are applying to.
Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wifi.
Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
