About the opportunity:

We're seeking a flexible, adaptable and highly engaged Vice President to join our Employee Experience team in New York. As part of our dynamic team, you'll contribute to the success of several major accounts and work with some of Edelman's highest-profile leaders in Employee Experience.

Day-to-day responsibilities:


    • Lead and contribute to employee engagement projects for large brands and apply change management process and principles to our work in a fast-paced environment

    • Lead operational and financial performance of account teams, ensuring quality work, effective processes and that client requests are handled in timely and strategic fashion

    • Thoughtfully counsel clients based on employee engagement/internal communications landscape and business goals

    • Take immediate action on client feedback

    • Capitalize on, and contribute to, the Edelman global network to serve and grow business

    • Supervise staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable and conducting their reviews and guide their professional development

    • Manage billing

    • Lead RFP response and pitching

    • Ensure that you and your team understand the general business strategy, products and services offered by your clients, as well as issues relating to products, product categories, technologies, primary competition and general issues facing their industries

About you:


    • Have a minimum 8 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: change management, employee engagement, communications strategy, internal communications, human resources, corporate transformations, or agency experience.

    • Experience designing and implementing internal communications and employee engagement strategies in complex organizations and across diverse employee and leadership groups

    • Experience with internal digital/social platforms (e.g., internal mobile apps, social/collaboration platforms, internal messaging platforms)

    • Experience strengthening corporate cultures and helping employees connect meaningfully with their companies' vision, mission, purpose, and strategy

    • Experience with stakeholder engagement in large-scale change, such as mergers and acquisitions

    • Experience defining strategies and programs to strengthen client commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) is a plus but not required

    • Ability to travel as needed. Flexibility to work on-site, embedded with clients as needed. Currently, Edelman is operating under a no regrets travel policy. Edelman team members will have an opportunity to review requested client travel and discuss with the account lead to determine the best approach during the pandemic.

    • Strong business acumen and familiarity with transaction communications

    • Track record of creating innovative and measurable solutions to business challenges

    • Experience working with and counseling senior management

    • Ability to derive clarity out of ambiguous situations

    • Possess strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency sides

    • Strong track record of leading profitable programs that advance client business goals

    • Solid knowledge of industry best and emerging practices

    • Experience or aptitude for methodology or service development

    • Loves to pitch, present, and win new business

    • Demonstrate excellent writing, editing, and presentation-development skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questions, critical thinking, client management and framework and methodology application)

    • Are an empathetic people manager, with the confidence, professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to manage a team
