What you will do

You will lead the Unified Endpoint Management team within the Global Operations & Technology team managing IT infrastructure at Johnson Controls (JCI). As an IT Delivery Lead for End User Device Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and defining enterprise strategy for device management across a global organization with over 100,000 end users.

You will define and plan End User technology services, specifically related to endpoint computing devices (PCs, Tablets, Phones, wearables, IoT, etc.).  You will also play a leadership role in idea generation and selection of services and technologies used to manage and support endpoints. Development of standards, processes and governance of endpoint management services will be expected and you will analyze and improve systematic processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
 

How you will do it 


  • Establish service definitions, technology infrastructure specifications, implementation and use standards, processes, roadmaps and lifecycles for services and technologies provided for endpoint computing devices.  

  • Develop and enhance relationships with key business stakeholders, actively manage expectations, and monitor satisfaction levels. 

  • Participate in IT strategy creation including alignment with Enterprise and Business Unit strategies. 

  • Formulate end user device technology advancement strategies and long-term roadmaps, partnered with business stakeholders and enterprise IT colleagues. 

  • Provide insights and thought leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide employee experience advancements, and technology decisions. 

  • Lead project delivery in the End User Computing (EUC) space within JCI.

  • Participate in Steering Committees, Operating Committees, and/or Agile Program Increment Events to guide activities, make trade-off decisions, remove roadblocks, and unify business and IT communities. 

  • Enable effective practices in data governance, business intelligence, and data analytics. 

  • Facilitate business-oriented IT performance reviews for the outcomes of IT services delivered to business stakeholders through the centrally managed, leveraged, enterprise IT organizations.  

  • Support risk management, regulatory compliance, Information Security, and audit remediation activities. 

  • Identify opportunities for improvements that can be accomplished through existing and / or new technologies. 

  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts, including creation of business impact analyses. 

  • Support definition and utilization of IT governance processes and policies. 

  • Provide hands-on analysis of industry standards and trends, design of new services. Research new technologies, services, operating models and application technologies to assist in direction setting and roadmap planning. 

  • Lead requirements gathering, specification, design, build and implementation activities for endpoint management services and technologies. 

  • Manage the technology life cycle and maintain a life cycle matrix identifying current standards and future technology directions. 

  • Develop, document and present business cases and financial justification for selected services and technologies. Represent the business case and value proposition of selected technologies in business case and technical reviews. 

  • Manage architectural development and standards setting process for Endpoint management infrastructure environments. 

  • Plan and build Endpoint management services with complete service definition to enable operational launch and handoff to operations teams. 

  • Review and revise existing service definitions to deliver continuous improvement. Conduct KPI analysis. 

  • A broad range of End User computing knowledge required, including the following: 

    • PC and OS Lifecycle Management (Microsoft, Apple, Google) 

    • Microsoft 365 Enterprise + Modern Management (Autopilot, Windows-as-a-Service, Windows Update for Business, M365 Analytics, Delivery Optimization, O365 ProPlus) 

    • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune, SCCM, hybrid/co-management) 

    • Apple device management (macOS, iOS, JAMF) 

    • Enterprise Mobility Management (MDM & MAM) – must have Intune experience 

    • Virtualization – client, application, user state and server technologies (Citrix, VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows Virtual Desktop) 

    • Strong experience with complete line of enterprise class endpoints



What We Look For 

Required:


  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years enterprise IT experience in a technical role supporting end user devices/technologies

  • 5+ years in a global IT Management role (North America, EMEA and APAC)

  • 3+ years of endpoint computing service analysis, design and architecture

  • Proven experience with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)

  • Demonstrated success delivering design-ready, complex architectures 

  • Ability to communicate technical information and ideas to diverse audiences 

  • A proven track record of interaction with diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases 

  • Self-starter with the ability to develop new services, complex technology architectures and business justification, and supervise their application and use 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and the ITIL Service life cycle 

Preferred:


  • Experience with Identity and network technologies

  • ITIL 4 Foundation experience
