Summary

The Quarry Lead Person position assists the Quarry Superintendent in carrying out their responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow the CRH Life Saving Rules.


• Effectively communicate with others.


• Have a high level of mechanical aptitude, knowledge and maintenance skills.


• Ability to advance company initiatives, motivate and communicate effectively with team. Provide employee empowerment and employee accountability.


• Lead by example.


• Fill in for employees absent or excused from work if needed


• Be able to task train employees on various pieces of equipment.


• Assume responsibilities of the Superintendent in their absence.


• Develop the skills needed to cover the duties of all positions being supervised.


• Be able to direct and perform projects within quarry operations.


• Be able to supervise all personnel in quarry operation.


• Coordinate the inspection of all plant and quarry operations as required.


• Ability to identify and effectively schedule plant maintenance needs.


• Request quotations and maintain parts inventory as assigned.


• Ability to enter production for the day and review time sheets


• Establish and follow a development plan in Success Factors to train/obtain skills to move into a quarry superintendent role.


• Understand and adhere to all Government Regulations.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• 2 Years of experience in stone operation preferred.
