Intermediate Software Developer

Overview

Frontier Technology Inc.'s Sensor and Data Services group is a multi-program business unit, with an office in Beverly, MA as well as work-at-home employees. We provide science and software development services to space-based electro-optical infrared (EOIR) sensor programs. We have extensive experience in systems engineering, sensor requirements definition, sensor design, sensor calibration, data analysis, radiometric performance validation, physics-based and phenomenological simulation tools, and data management.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual with current, intermediate to advanced software engineering skills in cloud-native development, architecture and formal software process. Responsibilities will include design, implementation, testing, maintenance and documentation of our evolving cloud framework as well as containerization and orchestration of new and existing FTI software products and tools in the cloud. Skills needed:

2+ years cloud development experience using Kubernetes and Docker
• 2+ years C#, Angular, and Web APIs


• Scripting experience


• Experience working with data stores/databases


• Strong problem solving and analytical skills


• Team player with good communication skills


• 
  

Skills preferred:

• MySQL, Minio, MongoDB and/or MS SQL Server experience or familiarity


• C++ and object-oriented design and development


• Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins


• Machine Learning

Education/Qualifications

• (Minimum) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields.


• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance is required.


• Candidates must be able to work both independently and together with scientists and other software engineers in the company.


• Occasional domestic business travel is expected as part of the role.
