About this Position

Title:Federal Business Development Director

Location:Reston, VA

As Riverbed drives growth throughout the US Public Sector through broader and deeper deployments across our customer base, it is critical that we increase our interaction with the Systems Integrator, Service Provider, Cloud Service Provider, and VAR communities. We have an opportunity for a Business Development Director to augment our direct sales teams to drive deeper relationships across these communities and work to embed our solutions into their programs and go-to-market.

Responsibilities:

    You will work with Systems Integrator partners, Service Providers, cloud providers (Microsoft, AWS, etc.), reseller programs teams, and strategic technology partners to promote Riverbed solutions within large program opportunities supporting Public Sector customers for an assigned list of federal territories
  • You will be responsible for meeting aggressive growth targets designed to position Riverbed account teams for success with large program wins for both "sell-through" and managed service opportunities. Further you will be responsible for driving a range of business development activities with our technology partners

  • You will create relationships with executive leadership, business development, and technical teams driving the message around the Riverbed's go to market strategy.

Qualifications:


  • 10+ years proven successful Sales / Business Development experience exceeding targeted objectives with 5+ years in Channel/SI/SP Sales & BD

  • Must have exceptional track record selling high-end software solutions, preferably in one or more of the following disciplines: Performance Management, Networking Solutions, Application deployment, IT Transformation, End User Experience, SaaS, Hybrid Cloud, Subscription Models, and Infrastructure Management to large agencies and enterprises

  • You have experience calling in the Federal Market - specifically Federal Systems Integrators / Service Providers / Cloud Providers

  • Executive level oral/ written communication and presentation skillsand ability to interact with all levels or organizations.

  • Business planning proficiency required

  • 25-50% travel within assigned territory (post-COVID)

  • You reside in the targeted geography with local relationships.

  • You have a track record of achieving assigned business targets year after year.

  • Exceptional sales presentation skills are mandatory.

  • You have good working experience with key local resellers / SIs / SPs and experience establishing and fostering strong partner relationships.

  • Tenacity, wit, and energy to get in front of prime targets and build relationships with new and existing Riverbed clients

  • Relevant competitive knowledge, including industry, technologies and product offerings, and evolving technologies

  • BS/BA or equivalent

  • Clearance: TS/SCI Preferred
