Job Summary

To provide IT leadership, strategy, deployment and on-going operations for GKN Advanced Defense Systems while maintaining a business-focused technology plan that delivers high quality IT services and business systems in the most efficient manner possible.

Job Responsibilities

• Foster a business-oriented culture and mindset.


• Act as a trusted advisor, and build and maintain relationships with GKN's Regional/Global IT counterparts and other business stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.


• Use influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the enterprise, enabling cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.


• Provide direction and oversight for the design, development, operation, and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management, all in close cooperation with GKN's Global IT leadership and aligned with GKN's Global IT strategy.


• Develop and control annual operating and Capex budgets for IT (run / build costs) to ensure they remain within plan and maintain consistency with overall strategic objectives of the enterprise.


• Enhance the capabilities of IT by leveraging a multitude of resources, both internally and externally.


• Work with HR and IT leadership team to develop an IT 'people strategy' that aligns with the business and IT strategy; ensure safe and proper working conditions for all IT personnel.


• Develop and maintain an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies that balance the needs between growing the agility required to achieve IT/ business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable, and efficient.


• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the local IT leadership team and staff, and actively participate in/contribute to the Global IT leadership team.


• Enhance and maintain contacts with vendors, professional groups, business associates, etc., as it relates to improving IT support to the company.


• Establish IT governance standards (e.g., security, data protection/cybersecurity, privacy, backup and recovery, documentation, etc.), and lead by example.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent fields of study.


• 10 years of experience in Information Technology in the defense & aerospace industry or a complex manufacturing environment


• U.S. persons with ability to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS/MBA preferred.


• Back-in discrete, high-labor-content end products preferred, including multi-site ERP and HRIS support, strong project management, and ERP implementation/conversion experience.


• Well-rounded professional background, including at least five years of executive level experience in a manufacturing/supply chain environment (with high labor content).


• Demonstrated experience with IT Infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT business systems and IT management at a senior level with a sequence of increasing responsibilities.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse users, senior management and multiple applications, while appropriately allocating resources to meet corporate and local operation goals.


• Experience with and understanding of strategic and business planning methods, tools, and processes with abilities to match technology to business direction.


• Strong leadership skills to guide teams implementing sophisticated systems (ERP, HRIS), including direct supervisory and project management experience.


• Preferred experience working in an Aerospace and Defense environment.
