This position is for a marketing professional with expertise in B2B content development who will help Blue Shield achieve its growth goals. This position will focus on content for large employer segments, in which several influencers and decision-makers are involved in a complex sale.
The content strategist will work closely with the content manager, client service strategists, and subject matter experts to articulate organizational capabilities as customer solutions. Long-form and short-form content must transform complex, often technical material into compelling, customer-focused value stories. Delivery, primarily through digital media, must bring Blue Shield's story to life in a way that demonstrates expertise and builds trust with key business partners and commercial market decision-makers.

Responsibilities
End-to-end development of sales and marketing content using traditional and digital channels that target B2B audiences to support the acquisition of large group new business
Partner with client service strategists and subject matter experts to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and internal capabilities
Translate technical capabilities into simple, benefit-driven, customer-focused value stories
Create highly customized presentation tools that showcase Blue Shield's differentiating mission, thought leadership, and customer solutions
Develop evocative thought-leadership content to demonstrate Blue Shield's expertise and build trust (includes case studies, testimonials, customer journeys, etc.)
Employ advanced storytelling techniques for different deliverables/media including interactive digital, video, web, email, social media, etc
Partner with content channel partners to ensure distribution of all content to internal stakeholders including sales and account executives, sales training, product and program managers, and others
Ensure the ongoing updates of content in formats and channels including the capabilities library, roadshow/pitch presentations, web content, value stories, the Customer Experience Center, etc
Project manage execution of strategic plan deliverables. This includes managing relationships with internal teams and external agencies for the development and production of marketing and sales materials
Contribute to market research designed to pilot and test content marketing initiatives
Introduce new digital marketing channels to expand the reach of existing and new content with the purpose of reinforcing the sales executive as a 'trusted advisor' and Blue Shield as a thought leader in the market
Utilize metrics to evolve materials and increase effectiveness of content messaging and design
Participate on and/or lead cross-functional and project teams developing and implementing new marketing strategies, processes, and tools as needed
Knowledge and Experience
A BA/BS in a related field such as marketing, business, communications, or journalism or business
Minimum of 2 years of B2B marketing experience with experience in digital marketing and working with Sales
Experience in strategic communication planning and execution
Proven relationship-building skills when working with internal and external partners and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to develop sales/capabilities stories, finalist presentations, video, interactive digital and value propositions to meet or exceed defined metrics
Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
Demonstrated ability to work on digital platforms and content management systems and to learn new marketing technologies
Superior planning, project management, organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask with multiple deadlines and/or milestone requirements
Knowledge of advanced marketing principles, concepts, and techniques including marketing analysis and research tools
Basic understanding of legal, brand and regulatory compliance process for marketing health plans
Ability to influence senior management, key stakeholders, decision makers, and peers
3+ years of B2B healthcare marketing experience preferred
