Job Description:

Performs skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of laser guided vehicles. Applies technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures.
DESCRIBE THE PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:
Perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs and maintenance as needed.

• Perform electrical and software troubleshooting on laser-guided vehicles (LGVs).


• Perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs and maintenance as needed


• Ensure optimal performance of automated equipment on-site.


• Attend periodic meetings on-site to develop strategies for improving equipment maintenance activities.


• Develop and report on equipment's operational history and status.


• Work with the manufacturer Elettric80 and suppliers to ensure system issues are communicated and resolved.


• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.


• Conduct maintenance in a manner that promotes safety.


• Support and abide by the company's safety program and all safety initiatives, policies, and procedures.


• Report issues and problems to management.


• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate with job tasks and areas


• Other duties as assigned.

Employees shall also be aware that our customers may request additional measures to be taken in quality and food safety systems such as those put forth in the Global Food Safety Initiative that include the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

• Effective communication skills: written, oral, and computer.


• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, variable frequency AC drives; AC servo motors and Ethernet networks


• Understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics is required.


• Electrical controls up to and including 480v.


• Basic Relay logic


• 2+ years 'experience of electrical troubleshooting' or a minimum of Associates degree or four to six years experiences


• Individual must have skills in testing, developing and implementing new software applications.


• Advances skills with MS Office (excel, word, access) are essential.


• Distribution operations experience preferred and knowledge of regulatory agency requirements.


• Individual should be self-sufficient, willing to learn, be able to retain knowledge and able to work with minimal supervision


• Must be able to work within a team and be open to team ideas


• Must understand and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPS).


• Must understand and follow all Job Safety Analysis and Safe Practices.


• Must Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices for The J.M. Smucker Company - Topeka.


• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate with job tasks and areas


• Must understand and follow all food safety and BRC guidelines.


• Provide own basic hand tools

Must be able to use proper technique to lift from 2-50 pounds. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level. Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

Shift will be Wednesday through Saturday 6am to 4:30pm with some required overtime. Internal applicants must provide a minimum two year commitment.
