Job Description:

Senior Electrician - Supervisor

Summary of Duties/Essential Functions:

The Senior Electrician Supervisor supervises the team members and monitors performance of their assigned responsibilities. They will also ensure that work is performed efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience and track completion rate and outstanding Work Orders.

• Maintains generators, VFD's, UPS systems as well as building and or utility plant support equipment like AHU's, chillers, boilers, hot water heaters, pumps, valves and other electrical related equipment.


• Confers/communicates with work order requesters.

Coordinates with client representatives to understand their needs and to ensure the work schedule takes account of the downtime windows negotiated with clients, where necessary.

• Assist in support/execution of site power outages and major switchgear maintenance events.


• Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.


• Assist with the installation and repair of single and three phase motors (single & two speed).


• Run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.


• Willingness to change lightbulbs and ballasts as needed.


• Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.


• Has a clear understanding of how to troubleshoot electrical systems and the voltages that might be present as well as understanding single line drawings.


• Is familiar with LOTO, NFPA 70E and maintains a clean and safe workplace.


• Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.


• Ability to use a computer in an efficient manner, knowledge of computer-based work order systems.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Able to regularly lift items up to 50lbs.


• Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.


• Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.


• Able to work on a ladders and scissor/man lifts.


• Able to work on roofs of buildings - able to safely perform overhead work.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

• High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.


• 4+ years of trade schooling or equivalent, preferred.


• 10+ years of in field experience.


• Strong communication and organization skills.


• Team player and leader who works well with others.
