The Manager of Network Security Development organizes the development effort of a solution. This person will become involved with a project at its inception and is involved in the functional analysis and gathering the initial requirements. The Manager will remain engaged throughout the balance of the project. They should have hands-on experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines. They need to share and communicate ideas verbally and in writing to executive staff, product sponsors, and technical resources.

Key responsibilities:

• Partner with Architects, Web and Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Quality Assurance to design and deliver technology solutions for best-in-class applications, websites, and systems integrations.


• Provide ongoing management of live systems including answering emails and delegating emergency work to Engineers off-hours and weekends.


• Formulate, plan and estimate large-scale projects and work with Architects to determine work breakdown. Manage technology delivery team consisting of all Technology roles.


• Provide leadership in developing and implementing short and long-term technology plans and related policies and procedures.


• Help teams set expectations, balance solution implementation against development timelines, scale application up with load, and account for unexpected or unknown setbacks.


• Interface and coordinate activities with both internal and external technical resources.


• Collaborate with Project Managers to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan and serve as lead as required.


• Oversee aspects of the project life cycle from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment phases for projects within the solution area.


• Keep abreast of technical projects within the company and discuss those projects by way of technical capabilities to existing and prospective clients.


• Mentor and guide more junior technical resources. Successfully manage people to achieve performance goals, resolve conflicts, and mentor and develop others.


• Provided technical review to help ensure projects meet cost, benefit, timeliness, and integration goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or another related field


• Five or more years of development leadership experience.


• Ten or more years of network design and support experience


• Experience in a leadership role


• Experience with packet trace and analysis techniques and tools


• Experience with network security tools such as firewalls, IPS, routers, switches, proxies, etc.


• Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies & platforms, network best practices, and compliance


• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills


• Outstanding problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution


• A passion for inspiring and leading great technological design while sharing ideas in a team-oriented environment


• Ability to anticipate and independently provide solutions for complex problems and issues, recommending upgrades, enhancements, priorities, and strategic technology directions based on independent research, consultation, and analysis


• Able to develop, manage and execute short and long-range technology plans and to transition and transform the delivery of information-based services through the use of innovative strategy


• Can bring innovative technologies to projects and engage our product managers in concepts and strategies from the initial phases of project discovery to final delivery and handoff.


• Possess a positive attitude and work well with others

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience partnering with third-party development companies


• CISSP
