YOUR ROLE


As a Systems Architect, you will:



  1. Be responsible for providing expertise on decisions and priorities related to the architecture of the program's systems.

  2. Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines for the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the program.

  3. Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the program's architecture needs. Assess new and emerging technologies and utilize that knowledge to improve the current deployment, increase scalability and adoption rates.

  4. Provide technical guidance to program teams as appropriate and assist with design reviews.

  5. Work with QA to optimize testing techniques.

  6. Create opportunities for the team to develop, share expertise and grow by facilitating learning events, large team retrospectives, and other avenues that encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  7. Manage project teams to meet schedule, budget and performance commitments and proactively manage risk to same.

  8. Support the Program Manager to maintain the program schedule, provide input to the program budget, support program planning activities, and deliver contractually required periodic reports and briefs, engineering status reports, and other program documentation as required.

YOU BRING



  • Bachelors' or Masters' of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree and a minimum of 10 years work experience performing in a technical and functional management role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description.

  • Top Secret Clearance required, CI Poly a plus.

  • Experience in some or all the following technologies:

    • RF phenomenology to include system components and propagation, bandwidths, antennae, link margins, especially space-based and co-channel.

    • Electronic systems concepts and design details, to include EMI/RFI, system hardening, rugged shake & bake, and system environments.

    • Software defined radio technology and associated processing, to include sample rates, performance, and time alignment.

    • Systems operations and functions to include correlation, data flow, data analysis/statistics, networking, WAN & SDWAN operations, and VPN/data security.

    • Large system modelling and simulation.

    • Operational deployments.



  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage technical human resources.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including communicating with non-technical audiences.



Also ideal:



  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors/partners and verification of 3rd party hardware.
