Program Coordinator, Wet Lab - University Hospital at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison, Wisconsin

We are seeking a Program Coordinator, Wet Lab to:


  • Oversee the day-to-day wet laboratory operations and quality control programs to ensure compliance with organization and regulatory agency standards. This includes identifying, proposing and implementing new or revised unit operational policies and procedures in alignment with strategic initiatives and objectives.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advance practice providers, registered nurses, and other staff/disciplines to plan, direct, and evaluate wet lab activities.

  • Uses, maintains, calibrates, cleans, and sets up lab equipment, instruments, apparatuses, and laboratory workspaces according to established policies and procedures and documents activities. This involves sterilizing instruments and moving equipment, including simulators and other materials.

  • Supports collaborative research, conferences and other endeavors in conjunction with the UW Health Clinical Simulation Program.

Education:

Minimum – Associates degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or related field

Work Experience:

Minimum – Two (2) years of work experience in a medical sciences laboratory environment incorporating wet or dry skills, research, biomedical engineering, or specimen control

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Experience in a medical skills, biosafety, medical, research & development, or clinical laboratory

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to incorporate nights and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
