How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Maintenance General Laborer to assist in various maintenance duties. Additionally, you will...

• Responsible for cleaning out water curtain paint booths with a shovel, moving drums of paint sludge


• Emptying trash and cardboard, changing air filters and other general labor duties.


• You will be helping disassemble water pumps, motors and other shop equipment that may fail or need preventative maintenance.


• Using power and hand tools (cordless drills, air ratchets).


• Able to follow safety training and instructions, set up equipment, use and clean up equipment relevant to their task.


• Able to follow work direction, have good dexterity, and work well with little supervision.


• Have good mechanical aptitude; know what a 7/16"open head wrench is for example.


• Must wear boots at all times and other PPE when necessary.


• You will be trained to operate a fork and scissors lift.


• Able to stand and move 90% of the time, kneel and bend 25% of the time.


• Ability to work in adverse conditions: wet, hot, dusty, dirty and cold.


• Ability to MIG weld would be a plus.


• Work with a safety oriented attitude, insure a safe work environment


• Knowledge of proper safety in regards to hazardous waste handling containers. Waste minimization.


• Emergency Response and Contingency and Hazardous Communication / Right to Know


• Lean initiative and Core Competencies.

  Required Qualifications
  

  
  

• High school graduate or equivalent. Able to read and write English. Have good math skills, fractions, feet, gallon, etc.


• Be capable of lifting up to fifty pounds
  
  


• Show interest for improvement and advancement
  
  


• Good organizational and communication skills, as well as ability to get along with others.


• The ability to work with diverse groups of people.


• This position is considered a safety sensitive position and as such is subject to the provisions of Valmont's Random Drug Screening policy


• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
