A skilled mechanic is needed for equipment change over and equipment repair in our manufacturing facilities. Experience with electrical trouble shooting is essential. Duties include building repair, ordering parts and equipment maintenance. Desirable but not essential include welding, experience with electrical wiring installation, equipment installation experience and threaded pipe installation. The work is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM Day Shift. Compensation depends on experience. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off.

Job requirements

Essential mechanic skills:

- A mechanical background with equipment set up, repair and troubleshooting.

- Practical experience with 120, 240 and 460 volt equipment.

- A can do attitude with the ability to complete projects; self manage and ask for help when needed.

- The ability to transport yourself between two locations in Allentown.

- Safe work practices and habits.

- The ability to self manage, order supplies and parts.

- Basic wiring knowledge including basic trouble shooting and the ability to solve simple wiring problems.

- The ability to be lifting, reaching and working in a warm environment.

- The ability to work alone or in groups of diverse people.

- The ability to complete equipment PM and documentation.

Desirable mechanic skills:

- Knowledge to do installation of new electrical circuits.

- The ability to work 16 feet above the floor in a scissors lift or on a roof.

- PLC / electronic hands on experience.

- Equipment installation experience.

- Work in confined spaces (occasionally required).

- Basic welding skills.

- Machining experience.

- Pneumatics/hydraulics experience
