POSITION SUMMARY:

The Solutions Development Specialist, based in Minneapolis, MN or home-based anywhere in the U.S., is dedicated to the development of operationalizing new research, BioTherapies products and other new service or special initiatives products. In collaboration with the Manager, Solutions Development and relevant program sponsors, this role will support the idea generation, screening and evaluation, business analysis, development, testing and commercialization of new operational products.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Solutions Development:


  • Contributes to client education as needed to clarify product requirements and specifications.
  • Recognizes customer needs while taking an objective view of product fit with NMDP mission, capabilities and other ongoing initiatives.
  • Ensures timely resolution of assigned activity which seeks to achieve both client and NMDP objectives.
  • Maintains a positive and collaborative customer relationship with a high level of professionalism.
  • Communicates status and progress to customers as appropriate.
  • Assists with Budgets and fee schedules.
  • Assists with return on investment analysis.
  • Advises on system and process changes necessary to accomplish the objectives of the initiative.
  • Communicates the needs of the initiative to internal stakeholders and ensures adequate allocation of resources necessary for design and implementation.
  • Oversees and guides interdepartmental SMEs to ensure project goals are met.
  • Leads feasibility assessment with interdepartmental support from Finance, Research, Regulatory, Quality & Regulatory Services, and Operational Teams.
  • Establishes and monitors project metrics.
  • Leads change to facilitate new processes and maintains oversight throughout delivery.

Governance Activities:


  • Provides regular updates to Sponsors and internal stakeholders on progress and barriers.
  • Identifies, evaluates and escalates issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with Client Engagement/Account Management and other Solutions Development Specialists to analyze and resolve cross-project issues.
  • Consults with internal SMEs as needed for required expertise or issue resolution.
  • Represents assigned initiatives in regular product and status updates.
  • Prepares executive summary as requested by Supervisor, Solutions Development Specialists or program sponsors.
  • Prepares initiative summaries as required for evaluation and decision-making in governance forums such as PMC, SMDS, and Product Development Lifecycle Gate Review.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:


  • Core operational capabilities, including end to end operational stakeholders and capabilities, as well as general understanding of supporting capabilities.
  • Medical terminology.
  • HLA awareness.
  • General clinical understanding of cellular therapies.
  • Data privacy and confidentiality principles for handling medical information.
  • Microsoft Office.

Ability to:


  • Work with high demand partners.
  • Demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in healthcare or science field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)


  • Some flexibility to work extended hours depending on business needs.
