Core Role Activities
Drive growth o Be a trusted partner and advisor to the Vice President of US Sales for the Cardiovascular Diagnostics & Services (CDS) OU. This position reports directly to the OU CFO. o Partner with the VP of US Sales, OU President and OU CFO to grow the business and achieve key business and financial objectives (Revenue, Operating Profit, Mark Share, Inventory). o Contribute a strong level of business acumen to key operational and strategic activities - leveraging industry insights and generating scenario analysis. o Provide leadership and direction on product launch execution and account targeting to achieve product launch objectives. Actively participate in Commercial Alignment Meetings and other marketing activities. o Drive commercial strategic planning efforts in conjunction with US Commercial Leader and OU partners (CFO, Marketing, Strategy) to maximize return on investments. o Prepare financial analysis to support critical investment initiatives within the region.
Financial Management and Reporting o Develop, monitor and drive AOP and financial forecasting efforts in the US. Proactively highlight risks and opportunities, and partner with senior OU leaders drive the organization to achieve optimal results. o Partner with US Sales Leadership team to continually improve revenue forecasting accuracy in the US - identifying what key metrics best drive and support those predictions. o Support and partner on the implementation of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) in the US Region. o Lead quarterly business reviews of P&L results and overall performance on key financial metrics. o Provide actionable guidance to sales management in alignment with financial goals, while also maintaining the longer-term strategic goals. o Provide dotted-line work direction and guidance to one sales finance Analyst who supports both the CDS and CAS Operating Units.
Cross Functional Collaboration o Partner with Americas' Center of Expertise (COE) on rebates, contracting and Commercial Operations, and pan-MDT COEs for pricing and total rewards. o Partner with Sales Operations and US Marketing teams to provide insight on region and district opportunity account pipelines, implant forecasts, strategy implementation (among other meaningful metrics) to drive additional opportunities to optimize results.
Special projects o Lead financial analysis to support critical special investment initiatives and other Ad-hoc as assigned o Other Ad-hoc duties/special projects as assigned
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance/and or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)
Nice to Have
Medtronic business unit finance experience/business acumen
Prior Medical Sales support experience
Excellent written/oral communication, presentation and influencing skills
Experience with MDT financial/reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion, CMR, SPEND, BOXI) and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, improve processes, and multi-task, in a high-paced environment
Strong business acumen; ability to learn/understand the business and influence key stakeholders at various management levels to drive and increase value to the organization
Positive attitude, with a high degree of initiative and accountability
Motivated to work independently with limited manager oversight
