  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Reports to the Director, Talent Acquisition & HR Communication. The HR Communication Specialist is responsible for development, establishment, execution, and continuous improvement of all HR communication strategies, for both digital, printed and social media. This position will focus on creating an employee-centric understanding of all HR-related topics, systems and programs (e.g. Active Staffer, Peoplesoft, Healthcare Source, benefit programs and packages, learning and development, onboarding, recruitment, engagement initiatives, etc.) in partnership with relevant HR team stakeholders.

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Education and Experience
      • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Marketing preferred. Three or more years of experience developing and executing a communication strategy within a corporate environment. Prior experience using various communication vehicles (digital and traditional) and a solid understanding of communication processes, culture, and stakeholders. Proven ability to convey a strong value proposition and engage multiple audiences and generations. Previous experience working on project teams with a proven ability to work under time constraints while meeting key milestones. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong editing, proofreading, layout and basic design required. Proficiency across digital and social medial channels.Three or more years of human resources experience preferred.



    • Knowledge & Skills

      • Requires a thorough working knowledge of Human Resources policies/procedures, practices and programs.


      • Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills (i.e., data entry, word processing, spreadsheets and database applications). Requires well-developed knowledge of computer systems and human resource applications. Also requires a basic understanding of the internet and intranet.


      • Requires solid math skills.


      • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively and positively and communicate in a clear and concise manner with the staff at all levels and with individuals from outside the organization. Also requires the ability to make presentations and to provide effective training.


      • Demonstrates tact, professionalism and flexibility when interacting with a variety of people.


      • Demonstrates the ability to ensure confidentiality and use discretion and sound judgment when making decisions and responding to questions and requests for information.


      • Requires strong customer service, organization, problem-solving and analytical skills. Also requires attention to details and accuracy.


      • Requires proof-reading, grammar and spelling skills and the ability to prepare error-free written communications.


      • A basic understanding of payroll-related activities would be helpful.




    • Working Conditions

      • Works in an office environment with some travel between different sites.


      • Work is performed in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines.
