Supervisory position overseeing the team of IS Analysts that manage the applications used in the perioperative areas (e.g. Epic Optime and Anesthesia:  procedural scheduling; pre/intra/post-operative orders & documentation; anesthesia documentation) across multiple Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health locations. Experience working with Epic, as an IS analyst or in an operational role, is highly valued. Certification or proficiency with an Epic application is recommended.  Prior supervisory or managerial experience is necessary.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is currently a 5 hospital health system serving the needs of patients throughout NH and southern Vermont.  In addition to our academic medical center (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center) located in Lebanon, NH, the Information Services division has extended our Epic EHR and other components of our enterprise-wide infrastructure to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH, Alice Peck Day hospital in Lebanon, NH, and New London Hospital in New London, NH.  This position will oversee serving the needs of existing sites using these applications as well as extending systems to additional members of our health system as our organization continues to grow.

  6. Responsibilities include:

  • Is the lead and public face of the projects that the Anesthesia/Optime team engage with (Member Affiliates, New Projects, etc). 

  • Investigates new project requests to determine effort required & projected timing.  Either works in conjunction with a PM or on their own to oversee projects (large & small).  Knows enough about the systems & processes/workflows to intelligently lead the work effort of those assigned and understand when risks & issues exist. 

  • Primarily responsible for the overall success of the team’s projects. Project management duties include but not limited to: Meeting scheduling, agenda prep, meeting minutes, timeline setting, project milestones/status reports, implementation communication to other teams as well as operations, education material oversight.

  • Assigns work to team members & prioritizes their assignments so that the team has clear direction on who is responsible for which tasks & what the relative timeframes/due dates of the work is. (Resource Management)

  • Is the main liaison to the operational leaders/customers (primary lead for Relationship Management with customers, both internal & external)

  • Is the main contact for the vendors, holds regular calls with them to discuss current issues & prioritizes the work for the vendor representatives (Application Management)

  • Has the skills to demo workflows, understands the system tools/workflows to be able to give guidance and answer team/end user questions at a high level.  Able to review clinical documentation and reports to validate issues from end users.

  • Handles all HR-related matters for the team members reporting to them: approval of time reports, performance reviews, etc.

  • Oversees of the embedded support staff in the perioperative areas.

 

 

 

 







Minimum Qualifications:


 



  • Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of practice and information systems analysis/implementation experience required.


  • Strong computer skills desired.


  • Must be self-directed, flexible, and have excellent organizational skills.


  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills required.


  • Must have an analytical approach to problem solving and needs definition.


     

 


Required Licensure/Certification Skills:


 


  • Special certification may be required (RN or other certification) depending upon team responsibilities.
