Job Description:

Prepare Quality Assurance shipping documents for submittal and shipment to customers. Analyze and present data to managers and engineers for use in quality management and product improvement. Provide information to manufacturing as required to support on time delivery.


  • Follow Howmet's Safety Regulations and Work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements.
  • Evaluates products and documentation to determine whether requirements, tests and inspections have been performed in accordance with customer specifications).
  • Download Heat Treat and HIP data from Lot Trace system and compile in an Excel workbook for completion of shipping documents.
  • Compile and analyze key product data to validate conformance to customer requirements.
  • Prepare dimensional data evaluations for submittal of non-conformance reports to customers.
  • Maintain non-conformance databases in OHCMS and Excel.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive test (FPI, Xray, ultrasonic, visual, lab) on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, and material characteristics, under supervision of engineers.
  • Prepares graphs, charts, or data by entering analysis data into computer systems (includes scrap reports and rework analysis).
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Interactive partner with manufacturing.
  • Support failure investigations (root cause analysis) through traceability systems.
  • Provide customer submittal information to manufacturing as required to support on time delivery.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Represent AHHC during customer source inspections by: escorting customers to inspection areas, providing required documentation, and coordinating source inspection schedule with manufacturing.
  • Responsible for assigned production jobs, wax through shipping.
  • MRB analysis and trending of nonconforming material.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Education:

  • Associates' degree or two year technical degree in manufacturing technology or quality control systems.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Required:

    Ability to read and comprehend detailed operating instructions, safety rules, blueprints, customer specifications, procedural manuals, and write routine reports. Standard mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic knowledge of statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Aptitude to understand written or oral instructions that may be furnished in variety of forms, including diagram and blueprint formats. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in situations and carry forward to conclusion. Must be able to function using Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel programs.

    Desired:

    Should be able to create complex Excel spreadsheets, including the use of functions and formulas. Must be able to use links to other workbooks, pivot tables, filters, and goal seeking scenarios, outline and subtotal features to create custom workbooks. Should be able to create charts and graphs for presentations.

    An understanding of statistical concepts and ability to perform basic operations in Minitab statistical program are extremely helpful.

  • Experience :

  • Five years of related experience and/or training in an engineering or manufacturing environment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is required to communicate with engineers, managers, and customers on issues. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with mechanical assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
