The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Supplier Diversity Mentoring & Education Manager, reporting to the Director of Social Justice Strategy & Initiatives, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Engaging closely with external partners, leaders at multiple levels and disciplines within 3M to develop and implement a world class supplier diversity mentoring & education program


• Ensuring program is established and active through relationship building, one-to-one coaching, business process improvement and design, leveraging lean thinking in process and toolset


• Organizing multiple training types including internal and external training and formal learning programs


• Facilitating ecosystem to provide business and technical assistance in areas like marketing, management, accounting, etc


• Developing productive, long-term strategic relationships that lead to mutually beneficial teaming arrangements to identify new opportunities for suppliers and growth for 3M


• Measuring, monitoring and continuously improving program effectiveness, working and communicating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring risk mitigation to achieving stated goals

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Five (5) years of relevant leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment


• Two (2) years’ experience in Supplier Diversity programs or leadership
   

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Former experience providing support to diverse suppliers/small minority owned businesses under the Mentor-Protégé Program


• Strategic leadership


• Project or Program Management certification


• Experience providing proposal support/proposal operations


• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including solid understanding of financial & data analysis


• High degree of collaboration, working as a member of a professional team with the ability to interact with leaders at several levels and handle high-pressure settings with confidence


• Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of leading high-impact projects and cross-functional teams, with multiple stakeholders

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
