Job Description


The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program and for collaborating with personnel to minimize rework and achieve contract requirements on the project. This position requires a proactive nature, passion for continual improvement, and teamwork to build it right the first time. The Quality Engineer supports the processes for inspecting, documenting, and addressing deficiencies in the field.



Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

*Develop a working knowledge and understanding of project documents, including contract drawings, specifications, procedures, and submittals, in order to evaluate the work quality and conformance to the plan.

*Become familiar and comply with all safety policies regarding field, plant, and laboratory activities

*Assist with development and implementation of checklists and procedures, maintenance of quality records, material deliveries and certifications, submittal review, and coordination of inspections and testing

*Coordinate and monitor performance of independent inspectors and personnel performing tests to ensure they are appropriately trained, qualified, and satisfactorily performing their functions

*Verify that equipment used for testing and inspection is calibrated and remove uncalibrated equipment from service

*Identify non-conformances and unsatisfactory conditions and immediately report issues to the Quality Manager

*Provide Quality Manager support with deficiencies, non-conformance, and corrective actions

*Perform and document the results of re-inspections or re-testing of unsatisfactory conditions or non-conformances to ensure compliance with contract documents and approved NCR dispositions

*Establish and maintain working relationship with the client and their representatives, project management and staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that the Quality Plan is implemented, and client expectations achieved

*Support the evaluation of work plans for quality controls and offer recommendations for improvements

*Communicate effectively and routinely on pertinent quality matters with the Quality Manager

*Proactively review construction quality control practices to determine opportunities for improvement

*Implement and support training field personnel in quality requirements and procedure

*Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values

Qualifications:

*2 years of relevant quality control and material testing experience (Emphasis in Concrete, Structural Steel, Earthwork, Utilities)

*BS in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred

*DOT or industry specific certifications preferred such as ACI

*Competent with Microsoft Office

*Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

*Excellent time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently and in teams
