Responsibilities

Dematic is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Software Applications Engineering team as a Software Project Lead.  The Software Project Lead manages the delivery of high performance, mission critical software solutions that drive the Dematic customer’s automated systems.

You will accelerate innovation through leadership, customer interactions, design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, commissioning, training and support activities that build intelligent, highly automated Material Handling Systems supporting manufacturing, distribution and order fulfillment operations.   

We are seeking Software Project Leads for our office in New Berlin, WI

 

Core Job Responsibilities:


  • Main customer contact for software scope, coordinating activities and deliverables.

  • Responsible for leading team of engineers to meet or beat schedules, budgets and quality of assigned projects.

  • Proactively seek ways to identify and mitigate project risks

  • Actively manage software activities through Confluence, JIRA.

  • Ensure the customer is adequately trained and can effectively run the delivered software solution

  • You will help create functional specifications and design / develop software

  • You will implement project customizations and configurations

  • Propose software modifications to adapt to business change

  • Conduct quality testing and integration of new or updated systems

  • Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution

  • Provide second level support of installed systems

  • Continually work to identify improvements

Experience with industrial automation a plus:  Experience with industrial automatic / systems with real time responses is a plus but not a requirement.

Leadership Experience:  Experience with performing leadership responsibilities is desired.  For candidates with leadership potential this may be your opportunity to advance into a leadership role.

Desired Technical Knowledge:


  • In-depth understanding of Software and IT/hardware setup

  • Understanding of network configurations

  • Current experience with C and C++ Programming

  • Current experience with VB.Net

  • Database Design and Programming Knowledge (Microsoft SQL, Oracle)

  • Knowledge and understanding of Windows Server

  • General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming

  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server

  • General understanding and knowledge of Virtualization (VMWare, etc.)

Education and Skill Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

  • 5-12 years of software development / implementation experience.  Leadership experience / potential is desired.

  • PMP - preferred

  • CSM - preferred

  • Willingness to travel 20% - 40%
