Responsibilities

Dematic Corp. has an immediate need for a Painter 3 in our Salt Lake City, UT manufacturing location. The Painter 3 performs complex preparation and painting of all sub-assemblies and products, as well as touch-up painting on products using various spray equipment and paints as required per specifications on all Dematic products in a very clean, well-lit, and air-conditioned facility.

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Assists in preparing all production schedules for paint shop.

  • Prepares, cleans and tapes surfaces to be painted.

  • Paints with cup gun, pressure pot, airless and air assisted equipment or other equipment as assigned.

  • Sprays acrylic enamels, industrial enamels and other types of paint as required.

  • Cleans and maintains spray equipment and paint room facilities.

  • Reviews complex prints for proper paint specifications.

  • Removes over-spray and tape after painting.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex.

  • Operates forklifts and or cranes as required.

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding and the like with agility.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.

  • Performs work in areas subject to such hazards as moving mechanical parts, variable temperatures, and or chemicals.

  • Must be able to wear a respiratory device and use in accordance with instructions and safety procedures.


Qualifications

Education:

Typically an Associate's degree in mechanics or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred.  High School diploma or equivalent required.  Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge:

Successfully demonstrated thorough/advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.

Experience:

Generally, minimum of 2-4 years successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.  May provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees.

Frequent inter-organizational and external contacts.
