Position: Senior Cloud Architect

Location: Remote – Anywhere in USA near a major airport. Denver, CO preferred.

Travel:   Up to 50%

As a Senior Cloud Architect on our Cloud Databases Practice Team, your primary role will be to provide Migration Details, Solution Architecture and Consulting Services for our customers. This technical consultant role will work in partnership with customers and advising them on how to use cloud services to meet their business objectives or overcome problems.

This role requires responsibilities such as:

• Assist customer in their journey to cloud and be the cloud enabler


• Working with customers to determine requirements and to define the scope of a project


• Partner with Datavail’s Sales, Alliance & Delivery teams to meet customer’s unique needs


• Design solutions / architecture to meet unique needs of the customer


• Developing and deploying solutions


• Managing and supporting deployed solutions


• Develop cost and time estimates


• Write whitepapers / technical blogs to promote Datavail’s cloud offerings and technical capability


• Represent Datavail in technical conferences including presentations

Experience

The ideal candidate for this role would require working knowledge and skills in the following technical areas:

• At least 10 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years of recent experience in AWS / Azure


• Database and Analytics services on Azure (SQL IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, HDInsight, Databricks, Data Lake, Data Factory etc.)


• Database and Analytics services on AWS (RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Glue, Athena, QuickSight, RedShift etc.)


• Networking concepts (Virtual networks, Subnets, VPNs, Network Security Groups, Peering etc.)


• RTO (High availability, Load Balancing, Azure Availability Sets, Regions / Availability Zones, Scale Sets)


• RPO (AWS Backup, Azure Site Recovery etc.)


• Cloud Security (AWS IAM, AWS CloudTrail, SIEM, Azure Active Directory, SSO, End-point security etc.)


• Various industry compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, PCI, SOX etc.)


• Observability (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor etc.)


• Cost optimization strategies on AWS / Azure


• Containers services on AWS / Azure (AWS EKS, AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, Azure KS)


• Ability to develop the solution using Infrastructure-as-a-code (AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager Templates etc.)


• Server / Database migration services (AWS DMS, AWS SCT, AWS CloudEndure, Azure Migrate etc.)

Qualifications

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is preferred


• AWS / Azure certifications are preferred
