Job Description:

A terrific opportunity for a Hospital Controller has recently been made available by a highly respected Community Hospital in Northern California. This reputable hospital is looking for a passionate Controller to join their growing leadership team. 


This community-owned hospital is an integral part of providing quality care to rural Northern California. This hospital provides high level quality care including: cardiology, orthopedics, maternity, diagnostic imaging, emergency care. The Hospital Controller will have the chance to financially grow this hospital with the help and support from the overall health system. By helping grow the hospital financially, the Controller will also be contributing to the hospitals core mission and value, in promoting the highest quality patient care. 


Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Hospital Controller will work closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Administration and all other applicable departments for the development of reimbursement strategies. They will work collaboratively with Hospital Financial Department, including financial analysts, accountants, patient financial service reps and business development, to ensure they are meeting departmental goals. 


The Hospital Controller will lead and direct all financial activities, including accounting, financial forecasting, financial reporting, payor contract management, and control/monitoring of financial functions. Utilizing their advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, the Controller will help prepare and oversee monthly financial statements, quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts, as well as the operating and capital budgets. In addition to supervising all financial activities, the Controller will also act as a liaison between heads of hospital departments, relaying all information regarding department budgetary reports. Other responsibilities include: year-end audits, revenue cycle, reimbursement and internal, external, and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the Hospital Controller will lead by example, to uphold the values and mission statement of the hospital.
