The Specialist of Regulatory, Compliance, and Technical Services is responsible for maintaining product, label, claims, compliance, and packaging.
Responsibility includes cross-functional collaboration in the operational application of product development, delivery, services, and solutions within the company, and as the liaison for customer projects and relationships.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure compliance by design of all ingredients, product formulas, specifications and product labels.
Functional expert in claims compliance e.g. free-from (i.e. dairy free), Facts Up Front, Natural, Age-related or Organic, Halal, Kosher, Non-GMO, GFCO, Vegan, etc.
Collaborate with and provide regulatory support to cross-functional partners during innovation, renovation and customer driven projects.
Maintain customer relationships as it relates to regulations, claims, and product compliance communication.
Actively collaborate with subject matter experts throughout the broader Food Safety, Quality, & Risk Management network to ensure a cohesive, unified approach.
Leads the technical onboarding of ingredients, products and services.
Maintain product technical data in customer portal systems.
Support any regulatory initiative, including the creation, development, and maintenance of technical ingredient / nutritional specification, data libraries, portals, and archives.
Evaluate current team and cross-functional workflows and actively contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Contribute effectively to the foundation of the Regulatory team by maintaining compliance tools, policies, and procedures.
Monitor the regulatory environment, domestically and internationally, to assess impact on products and business.
Participate in and contribute to product evaluation and customer sensory programs.
Up to 25% travel or more based on business needs

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of regulatory related experience within the food industry.
Minimum of 3 years of operations/project management experience
Proficient in MS Office, product life cycle management, compliance and regulatory software solutions such as Genesis and SAP.
Energetic, creative, positive and independent thinker with high level of integrity.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to think independently with strong organizational and planning.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
Working Conditions
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment
