The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The Area Business Leader is responsible for leading a team of frontline managers overseeing and managing the Acute Care and Post-Acute Care rental and sales business in the area in order to achieve Areas annual financial and strategic goals

As an Area Business Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leading your region to achieve strategic corporate goals which include sales force productivity, maximization of corporate contracts, sales, and implementation of corporate initiatives regarding new products and programs within the Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Advanced Wound Care, Vascular Access, Central Sterilization, Skin Care, Patient Warming, Tapes and Securement Product Categories

  • Working and leading team to deliver growth objectives including key campaigns and new product introductions

  • Hiring, developing, and retaining high performing staff

  • Managing expenses within assigned region budget; ensuring operating margin goals are achieved

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Seven (7) years of experience in Sales leadership managing direct reports in a private, public, government or military environment within the HealthCare/ Medical Device market segment             

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Three (3) combined years’ experience working with key account management and/or distribution partners

  • Experience in marketing, sales training, or product development in medical devices and operating room appliances and instruments

  • Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience forecasting

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, project management and implementation skills

Location: Responsible for a Seven (7) state area within the US

Travel: May include up to 50% travel domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
