Medical Director - (COVID Specimen Collection Site)


Location: Jacksonville, FL


FLSA Classification: Exempt - Salaried


Employment Class: Full-time Regular


Position Summary:


Advancia Aeronautics, LLC is seeking a qualified Medical Director (COVID Specimen Collection Site)who is responsible for issuance of standing orders (to allow for patient specimen self-collection), protocol development/refinement (to ensure staff complies with Center for Disease Control (CDC) requirements and remote medical oversight of a mobile COVID specimen (outside) collection site(s). The Medical Director will rely on a remote Project Manager (Registered Nurse) to provide project management and logistics, training, medical subject matter expertise with daily on-site operations administered by a Registered Nurse I and Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs). After issuance of standing orders and protocol development/refinement, the Medical Director will be remotely available to provide guidance and assistance for minimum of two hours monthly.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Issuance of standing orders to allow for patient specimen self-collection at COVID specimen collection site(s)

  • Refine existing COVID protocols to meet the requirements of the collection sites

  • Interact with the Project Manager on medically unique requirements pertaining to specimen self-collection or processes

  • Remotely available to provide guidance and assistance as needed (2 hours minimum monthly)

  • Other duties as assigned


Education & Experience Requirements:



  • Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association

  • Successful completion of a residency program which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

  • Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of Florida(additional licensure in California, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and/or Virginia desired)


Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:



  • Some walking and periodic standing required. Ability to lift (i.e., books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.

  • Most of the work is performed in-doors

  • Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time

  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend

  • Travel may be required
