a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Engineer. This role will support the OMES II team in support of the OSAM-1 program in NASA's Exploration and In-space Services Division (NExIS) at Goddard Space Flight Center. OSAM-1 is a robotic servicing mission designed to refuel a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. NExIS is responsible for the design, engineering, development, test, and operations of the OSAM-1 Mission through an integrated team at GSFC. This person will be responsible for researching, developing, evaluating, and testing the OSAM-1 GN&C system. They will provide leadership regarding the integration of analytical, hardware, and software disciplines required for GN&C of the OSAM-1 Spacecraft, Servicing Payload and Space Infrastructure Dexterous Robot (SPIDER). They will also serve as the Chair of the Mission GNC Working Group. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.


Essential Roles & Responsibilities:



  • Analyzing mission errors and budgets, including effects of sensor and actuator errors, failure modes, data latency, and structural dynamics

  • Formulating of GN&C requirements

  • Planning and executing GN&C verification and validation activities

  • Planning, directing, and conducting analysis, simulations, and performance assessments

  • Developing hardware/component definition

  • Designing, planning and development of flight software and system

  • Supporting GN&C ground system development

  • Testing end-to-end systems

  • Facilitating integration and test of the flight element GNC systems and executing of the planned GN&C verification activities

  • Serving as GNC Systems engineer expert supporting planning, rehearsal, launch and execution of the entire mission, estimated launch date of early 2025

  • Serving as chair of the Mission GNC Working Group


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline

  • 15 years of related experience

  • Obtain successful completion of a Government background check

  • U.S. citizenship
