The technician will be responsible for supporting microbiology lab needs including running the autoclave, dry heat oven, stocking and ordering supplies, sanitizations, media stocking, and other basic lab tasks in a facility that manufactures sterile and non-sterile products in a GMP environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily sample receipt/Logging of samples into LIMS
Prepare contract lab shipments for Micro
Support lab tasks such as sanitizations, autoclave, dry heat oven, biohazard, alarm responses, issue BI's, equipment prep for calibrations
Ordering, checking expirations, and stocking supplies
Media Fill Reads
Support weekly/monthly/quarterly cleaning of equipment and laboratory
Other basic lab tasks as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of High School diploma required
Some experience in a GMP environment preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
The successful employee will have the ability to function in a microbiological laboratory environment. The employee should have no inhibitions regarding safely handling microorganisms present in the laboratory and no health conditions/allergies that would prevent them from doing so.
The employee may be required to participate in an on call schedule for various shift, holiday, or weekend work as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job requires a large amount of physical activity. Walking, lifting, pushing and pulling carts, reaching, climbing, and bending are all required. Steel toe shoes, scrubs, safety glasses, and other PPE equipment must be worn based on job being performed.
