This position is responsible for managing all phases of product development for the global restorative materials portfolio. This includes conceptual stages throughout the product life cycle, working in collaboration with channel sales and brand marketing teams to reach annual targets for product sales and gross profit objectives. The incumbent will develop new product plans and execute strategies for developing and launching new products to meet agreed upon timelines. The Category Manager will work closely with all internal groups across the Henry Schein organization and its affiliates including Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Operations and Manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Drive the development and maintenance of the Henry Schein owned-brand restorative materials portfolio. Collaborate various sales and brand marketing teams to determine new opportunities

  • Provide financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.

  • Prepare product development objectives, marketing specs, and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.

  • Provide technical expertise across the organization as a restorative materials subject matter expert

  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas and orchestrate support across functions to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.

  • Responsible for managing the day to day progress of the defined product lines as well as launching new products.

  • Expand product portfolio including the development of strategic growth plans and management of the product line portfolio.

  • Oversee selected product portfolio lifecycles, review, and analyze product line performance and product positioning.

  • Collaborate, with appropriate brand marketing teams, in the development and implementation of go-to-market plans.

  • Collaborate, with appropriate brand marketing teams, in the development of core positioning, messaging and segmentation for products.

  • Produce accurate product monthly sales and unit forecasting across owned channels and brands. Monitor sales and unit trends. Estimate potential profit and release to production.


Qualifications

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent preferred. May hold two or more industry certifications.

  • Some knowledge of Medical Device Regulations

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
